Quilts for Christmas!

After my first two attempts at quilts, I went on a binge of pinning different quilts and tutorials! Along with my mum-in-law's encouragement and contribution to supplies, I started researching and planning for quilt designs for my cousins-in-laws' children.
There were plenty of quilt designs and patterns online, but being the terrible comprehender and follower of pattern instructions that I am, as usual with my sewing projects, I decided to create my own patterns and calculations.
Based on my pinned quilt designs, I researched on quilt block designs before deciding which block I would like to use, and then with the help of the tutorials from Archaios Quilt Company, I designed my quilt designs on Adobe Illustrator before planning in Microsoft Powerpoint as I calculated out the measurements I would need to cut my fabrics into.
As it was my first attempts at the pattern-making, there were mistakes that I made during the design process, and the eventual quilt had some differences/modifications to the planned quilt. Although I tried to correct the measurements, I probably did miss out editing some of the final measurements, so please do not trust and follow my measurements if you are attempting these!
The process was a bit tricky before my quilting rulers with imperial measurements arrived, as I was kind of jumping back and forth between cm and inches' measurements, but yay! They arrived sometime after the Tom's Sawtooth quilt I believe!
Tom's Sawtooth!
Based on the sawtooth star quilt block, this was my original design but I ended up using different colours due to what I had available at home!
L's Love Quilt
Based on the Moda Love Quilt design, I originally designed the centre of the quilt as blue/lilac but decided that my available fabric choices at home weren't complementing well with the reds that I had, so it eventually just had pinks/reds.

Zapinwheel
For this design, I took a photo of the fabrics that I had chosen, and colour-picked them for my colour swatch on Adobe Illustrator before designing. Unfortunately, after all my measurements and sewing the pinwheel blocks, I realised that I had made a mistake on Adobe Illustrator where my sub-unit divisions had been wrong, and hence my measurements for the pieces were wrong. I ended up increasing the width of the white sashing/border pieces in order to complete my desired quilt size, hence the final quilt having more white space than the original design.

After my other quilting projects, I had big pieces of scrap batting and so I followed this tutorial to join up two scrap batting pieces. Used my blind stitch foot for the first time!
Printed out my quilt care tag that I had made, as well as gift tags I had made from my cricut machine!
Too much fun! XD
I hope the children will use and enjoy the quilt as much as (and even much more than) I have enjoyed designing and making them!
