Wheeee!

First time cutting my own hair and making my own dress from scratch!

For the longest time, this was just beautiful fabric in the pile.

Been working on old clothes because I didn't have the courage to use up fabric that I paid for, just to fail big time.

Finally had the confidence to take the risk after watching a fair bit of sewing tutorials over time.

Wanted to make a Zadie jumpsuit but I didn't have enough fabric, so a dress it became!

Still can't believe I made this from scratch, sketching, making patterns from tracing my top, freehand drawing for the flutter sleeves, and even zigzag stitching all the seams! The tie was also made from joining up all the leftover fabric into a longer length.

Definitely was feeling the stress as I didn't want to ruin it!

Things I would change next time:

bring down the bottoms of the front bodice parts

use darts for top of skirt or more fabric for gathered effect

use different fabric to make pockets since I didn't have enough to make any
